Time Clock

Time Clock is a lightweight macOS menu bar app for tracking working time directly from your desktop. It is designed to be fast, unobtrusive, and always available – without getting in the way.

Overview

Time Clock lives in the macOS menu bar and allows you to:

  • Start, pause, resume, and stop work sessions
  • Track elapsed working time in real-time
  • Switch between multiple organisations / clients
  • Automatically sync all actions with the Flowtig backend
  • Receive updates via Sparkle without visiting the App Store

The app is optimized for long-running sessions and can stay active for days without user interaction.

Updates & Distribution

Time Clock uses Sparkle for automatic updates outside the Mac App Store.

Appcast (Update Feed)

The update feed is publicly available at:

The feed contains signed releases and metadata such as:

  • Version and build number
  • Download URL
  • File size
  • Cryptographic signature
  • Optional release notes

Updates are checked directly from within the app via Settings → Check for Updates…


Versioning

Time Clock follows a simple versioning scheme:

  • Short version (e.g. 1.0) User-facing release version

  • Build number (e.g. 6) Internal build identifier used by Sparkle

Example: Time Clock 1.0 (Build 6)


Security

  • All update packages are cryptographically signed
  • The app verifies signatures before installing updates
  • Network communication uses HTTPS only

  • Requires a Flowtig account
